Developing Your Intuition & Wisdom Through Horses: An Attorney Well-Being Retreat

DEVELOPING YOUR INTUITION & WISDOM THROUGH HORSES: AN ATTORNEY WELL-BEING RETREAT

April 24th to 27th, 2025

Ready to Heighten Your Skills & Learn How to be Less Stressed at the Same Time?  Through working with horses, our Facilitator, Kim Kupferer, a long time Capital Defender, learned that she could harness both more power and ease in her attorney work by being more horse like.  In addition to being a 37 year trial litigator, Kim is also a highly trained Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning facilitator and intuitive who has developed a unique program of well-being and empowerment through working with horses specifically for attorneys.  Our one-of-a-kind attorney retreats are specifically designed to address and deal with the issues that attorneys face with on a daily basis, that only we can truly understand and appreciate.  We constantly give our undivided attention to our clients, firms, families and others.  Now it’s time to make a commitment to yourself by coming to one of our retreats where the focus will be entirely on you.

Working as an attorney there are so many incredible moments.  Most of those are based on successes for your clients or firm. Who remembers winning a big case and being too exhausted to celebrate that night, but thrilled to go to bed a little early,  only to then wake up the next morning to a long list of cases and clients needing your attention or being sent right back out to trial. As attorneys generally the thing we are lacking is time. What little free time we do have then goes to the needs of family, spouses, pets, to do lists and more.  Five, Ten, Twenty years pass of quashing our needs while being super human in the rest of our life, and suddenly we find ourselves asking- where did I get lost in all of this?  It’s time for that to change.  At our retreats the focus will be 100% on you.  You will have the space and opportunity to refocus your energy on what’s important to you now and how to create that in your life.

Our retreats here at Imagine Equus Farm are centered in principles of Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL). That means that a good part of our days are spent working with, and connecting with, horses and donkeys. The key part of this is that you will be learning through having experiences with the animals all in relation to you.  All of our work is from the ground, so no riding experience is necessary. EFEL teaches us horse wisdom such as non-verbal communication, authenticity, balance, boundaries, connection, intuition, energy awareness, true leadership, mindfulness, appreciation and fully living in the moment. We combine our wonderful horse work with time in nature, incredible healthy & delicious food, serene & comfortable accommodations, Reiki or other healing body work and comradery with a small group of participants to provide you with a unique expansive experience. And a lot of FUN! Plus, our facilitator is an attorney who gets the intensity of the work and creates retreats designed specifically for attorneys. Our retreats are designed to be all about you. We focus on learning individual paths to well-being and empowering you while you are here. We also seek to develop the skills to empower you in your work and bring that well-being home with you.

While we will spend the majority of our days doing experiential work with the horses and sessions related to that, there will also be a focus on care of you.  We understand the daily pressures and amount of ones self lawyers constantly give to others.  Therefore, at this retreat there will also be a component of caring focused on you.  You will experience a healing session from a Reiki Master or other healing practitioner.  Your accommodations will be peaceful and relaxing cabins or nearby villas, where every detail has been designed with your comfort and serenity in mind.  The food you eat will be organic (as much as possible), local and fabulous.  Time will be built into our days such that you have time to rest, relax, ponder or just wander the woods and beautiful property.

Beyond the equine experiential work, this retreat will give you the added benefit of an opportunity to connect with the land, the animals and the outdoors.  You can use this time to replenish yourself and get grounded in a tranquil, peaceful setting.  At Imagine Equus Farm you can turn off the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world and let the focus be you.

We have created this very special horse retreat specifically for lawyers to give you an opportunity to not only learn about communication and leadership on a deeper level, but also to provide you with an experience to deepen your well-being that can incorporate into your every day life.

WHAT IS EQUINE HORSES FACILITATED EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ANYWAYS…

Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL) is a beneficial approach that involves interactions between individuals and horses to promote personal and professional development. In this process, participants engage in various activities and exercises with horses, guided by trained facilitators. The focus is not on horseback riding but on ground-based activities that encourage participants to connect with the horses on a deeper level.

Key elements of Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning include:

Non-Verbal Communication: Horses are highly attuned to non-verbal cues and emotions. Participants learn to communicate effectively without relying on spoken language, enhancing their awareness of body language and emotional signals.

Mindfulness and Presence: Interacting with horses encourages individuals to be present in the moment. Horses respond to genuine emotions and intentions, fostering mindfulness and helping participants develop a heightened sense of awareness.

Emotional Regulation: Horses provide immediate feedback based on the emotional energy they sense. Participants learn to regulate their emotions, manage stress, and develop emotional intelligence through these interactions.

Leadership and Collaboration: Working with horses requires clear communication and leadership skills. Participants often discover insights into their own leadership styles and teamwork dynamics as they navigate activities with the horses.

Metaphorical Reflections: The behaviors and responses of horses are often metaphorical reflections of the participants’ internal states. Facilitators guide individuals in interpreting these reflections, leading to deeper self-discovery and personal growth.

Empowerment: Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning empowers individuals to overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop a sense of achievement as they successfully navigate activities with the horses.

Overall, EFEL provides a unique and powerful platform for self-discovery, emotional healing, and skill development by leveraging the intuitive and non-judgmental nature of horses in a beneficial & restorative setting.
